Prisoners of Data is an interactive art installation exploring digitalsurveillance and privacy issues. The installation compriseselectronic components including a human face sculpture, birdcagestructure, motherboard, camera, microphone, and screen. Whenviewers approach, the system records their image and voice; upondeparture, this data is instantly played back, forcing individuals toconfront their “digital footprints” within the system.
Through the fusion of art and technology, the work reveals theboundaries of individual freedom within an algorithmic surveillancesociety, prompting public reflection on privacy, autonomy, and thegaze.
