The air quality sensor is based on a pm2.5 detector, a humidity and temperature sensor and a HCHO sensor, a LED board is set up to show the real time data. As the screen is a LGD one, the background color can change along with the air quality and switch to same color as China's air quality levels. There are also breathing LED and a buzzer placed to show out the HCHO, normal is green, yellow for a little and red & buzzer for life-threatening leakage. In case with thisyou can get a direct view of the air quality.
The idea comes from my dorm life as in winter it's extremely dry inside and sometimes we do have smog in winter.Also in winter reports of being CO or HCHO poisoned shows a great increasing trend. So I want to make something to warn off and get some data daily so we can decide whether we need anything to deal with it. The project went through 3 parts, try with beginner kit, a draft and a final one with new functions like LED, buzzer and dynamic background color.
